ORLANDO, Fla. - The Purdue women's golf team was victorious in the second round of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Friday. The Boilermakers were too much for 16th-seeded Nebraska defeating them in the afternoon round 3-1-1.

Junior Whitney Frykman halved her match with Chrissie McArdle and sophomore Stephanie Oukeo was bested by Nebraska's Allison Stewart.
In first round action Friday morning, the Boilermakers lost to Arkansas the No. 9 seed, 2 to 3.
The 16th-ranked Boilermakers are the No. 8 seed in the event and face No. 5 seed and No. 15 ranked Wake Forest on Saturday. Third round action is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
This unique event features 16 teams and is the only match play championship on the collegiate schedule. Invitation to the tournament was based on 2006 national championships finish. Seeding was announced two weeks ago and is based on fall results.
