CHARDON, Ohio - The Purdue men's golf team is in 14th place after the second of three rounds of the NCAA Men's Golf Central Regional Championships in Chardon, Ohio.

The Boilermakers fired a second-round 303, 12 strokes more than their first-round total. Purdue was tied for sixth after Thursday's round. Oklahoma State leads the field after a total of 565 over the two days. Northwestern is in second place and Texas A&M is in third.

Purdue is merely four strokes out of the top 10. The top 10 teams advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships from May 31 to June 2 in Sunriver, Ore. The Boilermakers have advanced to four of the last five NCAA Championships.

For the second-straight day, Purdue was led individually by junior Bobby Bennett. Bennett carded a two-over 73 after a three-under 68 on Thursday. He is tied for fifth place overall.

Junior Pariya Junhasavasdikul is tied for 49th after totaling a 75 Friday.

Sophomore Santiago Russi has totaled 150 over the two days and is tied for 59th. He carded a 77 on Friday. Junior Peter Richardson posted a 78 and is tied for 89th.

Freshman Tom Oliver is tied for 124th after a round of 79.

The event is being held in Chardon, Ohio and hosted by Cleveland State. Purdue is no stranger to the 7,085-yard, par-71 Sand Ridge Golf Club. The Boilermakers tied for fourth in the Cleveland State Invitational, held at Sand Ridge, on Sept. 13.
