The Purdue men's golf team is tied for sixth after two rounds of the 2006 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio.

The Boilermakers fired a back-to-back rounds of 302 and totaled 604 strokes on Saturday. They are tied with Illinois. Indiana leads the field with a total of 578. Northwestern (582), Marshall (600), Ball State (603) and Xavier (603) round out the top five.

Purdue was led by junior Peter Richardson who is tied for fourth overall. Richardson fired a two-under 70 in the morning and a one-over 73 in the afternoon. His round of 70 was the lowest of the day for the Boilermakers.

Junior Pariya Junhasavasdikul carded rounds of 74 and 77 and is tied for 25th overall. Freshman Tom Oliver is tied for 43rd after totaling 155. Oliver overcame an 83 in the morning and fired a one-over 73 in the afternoon.

Junior Bobby Bennett totaled 157 and is tied for 53rd overall. Sophomore Santiago Russi is tied for 64th after back-to-back rounds of 80.

The Boilermakers are ranked No. 42 in the latest Golfweek.com Poll. They are coming off a second-place finish at the Boilermaker Invitational on April 9.

The Robert Kepler Intercollegiate began in 1969 and has been held every year since, with the exception of last year, when it was cancelled due to weather. Purdue has participated in the event 35 times. It's best finish was second-place finish in 1981. It placed third in 2002, when Lee Williamson was the individual champion.

The 15-team field includes Akron, Ball State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue, Toledo, Wisconsin and Xavier. Ohio State is the host school.

The tournament is being held at Muirfield Village Golf Club, home of the PGA Tour's Memorial, hosted by Jack Nicklaus.
