The Purdue women's golf team finished second, two strokes behind Florida at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.

The third-ranked Boilermakers fired a 295 on Sunday and totaled 887 over the three rounds. Their final round of 295 was the second-lowest of the day. Twenty-second ranked Florida won the event with a total of 885 and final-round 294. Ninth-ranked Arkansas finished third (888), No. 23 Oklahoma State fourth (892) and Kent State fifth (903).

Arkansas' Amanda McCurdy took home top individual honors. She fired a final-round 74 and totaled 214. Florida's Whitney Myers totaled 216 to finish second. Purdue had four individuals in the top 22.

Freshman Christel Boeljon was the top-finishing individual for Purdue. Boeljon tied for fourth overall after a total of 220. She fired the lowest final round for Purdue, an even-par 72.

Senior Onnarin Sattayabanphot tied for sixth overall. She carded a team-low 71 on Friday and a 74 on Sunday.

Freshmen Maria Hernandez carded a 74 on Sunday and tied for 11th overall with a total of 222. Sophomore Whitney Frykman tied for 22nd overall. She fired a 75 in the final round and totaled 225 over the three days.

Junior Myrte Eikenaar totaled 229 and tied for 35th overall. She had a 75 on Sunday. Caroline Haase competed as individual and tied for 62nd after a round of 79, her best of the event.

The event was played at the 6,000-yard, par-72 CoCo Beach Golf Course. Purdue was the host of the tournament, the opening event of the spring season.

This was the fourth year for Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Last year's event was won by Auburn, which fired a 216. Diana Ramage captured individual honors. Duke captured the team title in the first two years of the tournament.

The Boilermakers are in action again on March 11 and 12 at the Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
