Fall Wrap At Landfall

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Purdue men's team finished in ninth place at the 2005 Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., on Sunday.

The Boilermakers fired a final-round 297, their lowest round of the tournament. The Boilermakers totaled 901 over the 54 holes. Texas A&M won the event with a total of 870. Coastal Carolina finished second with an 880.

Purdue's top finishers were junior Pariya Junhasavasdikul and sophomore Santiago Russi. Both individuals tied for 17th place overall. Russi fired a team-low 73 on Sunday. Junhasavasdikul carded a final-round 75 and the duo totaled 223.

Junior Peter Richardson tied for 19th place. He totaled 224 and recorded a 75 on Sunday. Junior Bobby Bennett finished tied for 44th after shooting a 74, his lowest round of the tournament.

Junior Johan Edin finished 57 after a total of 248.

The Landfall Tradition also featured a 12-team women's tournament, in which the Purdue women's team took home top honors.

Both tournaments were held on the Jack Nicklaus designed Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall. The men's track is a par 72, 6,992-yard layout. The women were on a par 72, 6,070-yard challenge.

The Landfall Tradition concludes the fall season for the Boilermakers. The spring season tees off on Feb. 18 to 19 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
