The Purdue men's golf team finished fifth at the 2005 Big Ten Championships in Madison, Wis.
Michigan State won the event after firing a final-round 289. It totaled 847 over the three days. Indiana finished second with an 852, and Northwestern was third with an 853. Minnesota finished just behind in fourth place with an 854.
The Boilermakers fired a final-round 287 to finish with a total of 861.
Indiana's Jeff Overton was the individual champion.
Senior Dustin Cone led the way for the Boilermakers. He fired a team-low 70 on Sunday. His total of 213 tied him for eighth place overall. Cone's final round included five birdies and three bogeys.
Sophomores Johan Edin and Peter Richardson finished tied for 16th overall. Edin fired a final-round 72 with five birdies and five bogeys. Richardson carded a 75 on the afternoon.
Sophomore Pariya Junhasavasdikul tied for 29th overall after a 74 on Sunday.
Freshman Santiago Russi finished tied for 36th after firing a one-under par 71.
At the conclusion of the event, Richardson and Junhasavasdikul were each named second-team All-Big Ten.
The event was hosted by Wisconsin on the University Ridge golf course. The course is a par-72, 6,888-yard layout.
The Boilermakers now await word on whether they will advance to the NCAA Regional Championships.
