AUBURN, Ala. - The Purdue women's golf team finished 22nd at the NCAA Women's Golf National Championships on Friday. Play was suspended during the day due to rain. The top 12 teams will finish on Saturday morning.
The Boilermakers fired a final-round 296 and totaled a 1205 over the four days. UCLA leads the event and Duke is in second place.
The No. 38 Boilermakers are one of seven teams to have advanced to five-straight NCAA national championships.
Senior Beth Hermes led the Boilermakers after totaling a 293. She fired a final-round 72. Hermes recorded three of four rounds at even or under par.
Sophomore Onnarin Sattayabanphot fired a final-round 73 and totaled a 299 over the four rounds.
Freshman Myrte Eikenaar fired a final-round 74 and totaled a 304.
Freshman Maria Stinson totaled a 309. She fired a final-round 77. Freshman Caroline Haase carded an 85 on Friday. She finished with a 340 over the four days.
The event was hosted by Auburn on the par-72, 6,215-yard Grand National Lake Golf Course in Auburn, Ala.
