Karmis Finishes 48th At NCAA Central Regional

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Purdue golfer Peter Karmis finished in 48th place at the NCAA Men's Golf Central Regional in Manhattan, Kan.

Karmis fired a one-over-par 73 on the Saturday. He recorded two birdies and three bogeys. He fired an even par 72 on Thursday and a 75 on Friday. He finished with a three-day total of 220.

Houston's Brett Callas was the event's individual winner after a three-round total of 207.

Karmis was one of six individuals competing in the Central Regional. The top two individuals now advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships in Stillwater, Okla., on May 28 to 31.

Karmis was named honorable mention All-Big Ten following his second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships in Bloomington last weekend.

Karmis was the Boilermakers' top finisher in six of the last seven tournaments and held the team's lowest stroke average at 73.1.
