Purdue Men's Golf Tied For Sixth Place At Kepler Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Purdue men's golf team is tied for sixth place after two rounds of play at the Robert Kepler Invitational, which is being held at the at Ohio State's par 72, 7,251-yard Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.

The Boilermakers fired an opening-round score of 301 and carded a 306 in the afternoon session for a one-day total of 607 (+31). Purdue is currently knotted with Kentucky for sixth and trail the host Buckeyes (591, +15) by 16 strokes for first place.

The 16-team tournament features Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Kent State, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio, Ohio State, Purdue, Toledo, and Wisconsin.

Purdue was led by junior Shiv Kapur, who fired scores of 75 and 71 through the first 36 holes of play. He is currently tied for third place with a 146 (+2) and trails leaders Jeff Overton of Indiana and Brad Heaven of Toledo by just three strokes.

Senior Peter Kamris (152, +8) is tied for 23rd after shooting rounds of 73 and 79. Sophomore Dustin Cone is tied with seven others for 37th place at 154 (+10); junior Luke Epp sits one stroke behind that pack at 155 (+11).

Play resumes Sunday at 8:30 a.m. EST for the final 18 holes
