AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Purdue men's golf team finished ninth at the Cleveland Golf/ Augusta State Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
The Boilermakers fired a final-round 284 and finished 33 strokes behind tournament champion and host Augusta State.
The event was held at the par 72, 6,840-yard Forest Hills Golf Club and featured ten of the nation's top-21 teams.
Purdue was led by senior Peter Karmis, who fired a final-round 68 and finished 10th overall.
Sophomore Dustin Cone tied for 28th after a final-round 73. He totaled 213 over the two days.
Junior Ryan Masuda tied for 46th after a three-round 217. He shot a 71 on Sunday. Junior Shiv Kapur tied for 54th overall with a 218.
Senior Chris Mayson tied for 67th overall after a three-round total of 221. He carded a final-round 75.
The 17-team tournament featured Alabama, Augusta State, Clemson, Duke, East Tennessee State, Fresno State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State, North Florida, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
The Boilermakers are in action again on April 12 and 13 at the Kepler-Cleveland Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio.
