Women's Golf Finishes Sixth In Shootout At The Legends

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf team finished in sixth at the Shootout at the Legends in Franklin, Ind., on Wednesday. The Boilermakers fired a final-round 304 and finished with a 905 over the three-round, two-day event. The event was won by Michigan who shot an 877.

Junior Kari Damron shot a 219 and finished fifth individually. Junior Heather Zielinski notched a 226 and tied for 21st. Sophomore Beth Hermes carded a 227 and tied for 24th place overall. Seniors Caroline Laurens and Christy Rittenhouse shot a pair of 236's and finished tied for 62nd.

Purdue placed fourth out of the eight Big Ten teams in the tournament.

The Boilermakers will be in action again this Friday when they head Mercedes-Benz Championship in Knoxville, Tenn. The event will be held on Oct. 12-14 and hosted by the University of Tennessee.
