Women's Golf In Ninth Place After Second Round Of Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Purdue women's golf team is in ninth place after the first two rounds of the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. The Boilermakers fired a 311 on Saturday and trail Auburn by 19 strokes for the tournament lead.

Senior Caroline Laurens is the low Boilermaker in the tournament. Laurens fired a second-round 79 and is now 11 over par for the tournament. Senior Andrea Makauskas, also at eleven over par, shot a second-round 78. Junior Kari Damron and sophomore Beth Hermes fired a pair of 77s and are in a tie for 38th place. Junior Heather Zielinski carded an 89 and finished the first day tied for 81st.

The Boilermakers trail Big Ten foes Michigan and Ohio State by two and six strokes respectively. They are the only three schools representing the conference in the tournament.

Final-round play begins at 8 a.m. EST on Sunday morning. This is the final tournament of the fall season for the Boilermakers.
