Boilermakers Fall To Nittany Lions, 92-71

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Joe Crispin scored 20 points and Titus Ivory added 17 points as Penn State defeated Purdue 92-71 Saturday.

Gyasi Cline-Heard scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for the Nittany Lions (16-7, 6-6 Big Ten), who won their third consecutive Big Ten game.

Maynard Lewis scored 16 points and Kenneth Lowe and Willie Dean each added 11 points for the Boilermakers (13-11, 5-8), who dropped their fifth straight conference game for the first time since the 1990-91 season.

Crispin had a 3-pointer and a fast-break layup in a 7-0 run that gave the Nittany Lions their biggest lead, 80-45, with 8:27 left in the game.

After Purdue scored the first basket to start the game, Penn State went on a 17-4 run, with four different Nittany Lions hitting 3-pointers. Crispin connected on two first-half 3-pointers and was 4-4 from behind the arc for the game.

The Nittany Lions took their biggest first-half lead, 40-20, on a pair of Brandon Watkins free throws with 3:10 remaining. Penn State led 45-26 at halftime.
