BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Candi Crawford's layup with 21 seconds remaining capped No. 17 Purdue's rally from a 10-point deficit and the Boilermakers beat Indiana State 69-67 in the Big Four Classic on Saturday.
Camille Cooper had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Purdue (5-1), while Kelly Komara added 16 points.
Indiana State (3-2) maintained a 10-point lead through most of the second half, but Purdue sliced the lead to four with 7:38 remaining when Cooper was fouled while scoring a basket inside.
Komara then hit two free throws with 4:07 to cut Indiana State's lead to two and the Boilermakers tied the game at 66 when Cooper nailed a turnaround jumper.
Purdue played the game without top scorer Katie Douglas, who is averaging 22 points per game. She severely bruised her right knee in the Boilermakers' 72-66 loss to No. 3 Tennessee on Thursday.
Indiana State recovered from a sluggish start to take a 42-32 halftime lead. Purdue used a strong inside game and made its first four shots from the field to take a 14-4 lead.
Indiana State then found its rhythm and relied on its defense to climb back into the game. Shameka Robinson scored eight points and Kourtney Meenen connected on two 3-pointers as the Sycamores went up 20-19.
Indiana State used an 18-7 run to take the one-point lead midway through the first half.
April Kirby added five consecutive points as the Sycamores extended their lead 32-24. She connected on consecutive 3-pointers late in the half to stretch the lead to 40-26.
Kirby finished with a team-high 16 points.
