Purdue was paced by sophomore Lee Williamson who finished tied for 42nd place with a score of 226. Freshmen Chris Mayson and Luke Epp tied for 63rd place with a 232, while senior Ryan Cate shot 236 to finish tied for 69th place. Junior Chad Jones was the other Boilermaker competing, as he placed tied for 75th place with a 239.
Oklahoma led from the beginning, firing a tournament low 286 in the first round. The Sooners followed with a 290 and a 294 to finish with a three-round total of 870. Oklahoma's top individual was Chris James who finished tied for third with East Tennessee State's Chris Wisler at 216 (even par). The Sooners had two other top-10 finishers, Kelsey Cline (tied fifth) and J.D. Robertson (tied-ninth).
In the individual competition, North Carolina's Max Harris and Arizona's Patrick Norris were tied for the lead after the first day at four-over par. Harrid shot a 71 in the final round to capture the individual medal.
The University of Arizona finished second this weekend, five shots behind Oklahoma. The Wildcats' top individual, Norris, registered a 213, two shots behind Harris.
The lowest team round of the weekend was accomplished by South Carolina when they fired a second-round of 283. The Gamecocks surrounded that outstanding performance with a first-round 302 and a third-round 300 to finish in third position with a tournament-total of 885.
North Carolina finished fifth, followed by Clemson and Auburn who tied for sixth. Tennessee, North Carolina State and Texas Christian rounded out the top 10.
The Boilers will return home Oct. 1-2, for The Northern Intercollegiate, to be held on Purdue's Kampen Course.
