WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Stephanie White-McCarty scored 10 of her 17 points in the final eight minutes to lead No. 2 Purdue to a 70-64 win Sunday against Michigan.
Anne Thorius led the Wolverines (14-8, 6-6 Big Ten) with 22 points and Ann Lemire added 20.
Michigan used an 11-0 run five minutes into the second half to take a 47-46 lead. White-McCarty put Purdue (21-1, 12-0) ahead for good with a three-point play with 4:35 remaining to make it 58-55.
The Boilermakers stretched their advantage to 62-55 when Ukari Figgs hit two free throws with 3:02 left and Katie Douglas hit a running jumper at the 2:22 mark.
Michigan closed to within 64-61 on Ann Lemire's 3-pointer with 30 seconds left. Douglas, Figgs and White-McCarty each hit two free throws in the final 25 seconds to seal the victory.
