Men's Golf Finishes 16th at San Juan Shootout

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The Purdue men's golf team finished 16th out of 18 teams on Tuesday at the San Juan Shoot-Out in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Boilers were led by senior Colby Huffman, who tied for 58th place with a tally of 12-over-par 228 at the Rio Mar Country Club (par 72). Sophomore Ryan Miller also had a strong showing for the Boilers with a score of 231 (+15) to tie for 63rd place. Clemson captured the team title with a three-day score of 830 (-34), while Jon Engler of Clemson and David Christensen shared medalist honors with an 11-under-par 205.

Also seeing action for the Old Gold and Black were freshman Lee Williamson and sophomore Chad Jones, who fired totals of 234 to tie for 70th. Rounding out the Purdue lineup was senior Bert Jones, who finished tied for 83rd with a 240.

Purdue will next travel to Charlotte, N.C., for the Birkdale Collegiate Wildcat to be hosted by North Carolina-Charlotte on March 13-14.
