WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Stephanie White-McCarty proved once again that she isn't just a scorer.
White-McCarty scored 23 points to become Purdue's No. 2 career scorer as the third-ranked Boilermakers won their 11th straight game with a 70-47 rout of Michigan State on Friday night.
White-McCarty also had seven assists, six rebounds and six steals for the Boilermakers.
"Stephanie is a team player," said Purdue coach Carolyn Peck. "She steps up and shows a lot of leadership. She does not take on everything herself."
White-McCarty moved past Joy Holmes on the school's scoring list with 1,768 points. Purdue's all-time leader is MaChelle Joseph, who scored 2,405 points from 1989-92.
"We did a good job of executing," said White-McCarty. "Once we started hitting our layups, our outside shots began to fall. We started out a little slow, but our defense picked us up."
The Boilermakers (13-1, 5-0 Big Ten) set a school record for consecutive wins in a season.
Michigan State (8-7, 2-3) lost to the Boilermakers for the 10th time in 11 meetings. The Spartans haven't won in West Lafayette since 1988.
Pernille Dalgaard led Michigan State with 13 points.
Purdue closed the first half with a 21-4 run to take a 41-27 lead at the break. Michigan State committed 10 turnovers during the decisive spurt.
The Spartans never got closer than 11 points in the second half and had 26 turnovers in the game.
Dalgaard's 3-pointer put Michigan State ahead 23-20 in the first half, but Purdue then scored eight straight points. After Michigan State's Becky Cummings hit two free throws, the Boilermakers responded a 9-0 run that included six points by White-McCarty.
