Purdue Edged Out by Akron
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of Purdue baseball team surrendered four runs in the seventh and eighth innings, losing a 4-3 decision to the University of Akron.
The Boilermakers led 3-0 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but starter Chris Bloomer tired, allowing two runs in the seventh and was responsible for another run in the eighth.
Leading the way offensively for Purdue was third baseman Josh Pollman, who went 2-for-4, with an RBI. Rob Ramacher also had three hits for the Boilermakers.
