WOLLARD NAMED BIG TEN CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- Joined by Michigan's Allison Jacobs, Kenna Wollard was selected as Big Ten Co-Player of the Week after ranking No. 6 nationally in total points and 10th in total attacks.
- Her performance included 24 kills vs No. 23 Georgia Tech, the most by a Big Ten player in a four set match last week, while on a .321 hitting clip.
- Then, she followed it up just 24 hours later with a .318 hitting % on 19 kills and 15 digs vs. Bowling Green.
- To close the Stacey Clark Classic vs. No. 15 Kansas, Wollard led the team with another double-double of 15 digs and 20 kills.
MCALEER JOINS 30-DIG CLUB
- Sophomore Ryan McAleer’s 30 digs vs. #15 Kansas (9/5) marked the most by a Boilermaker since 2021 (Jena Otec: 30 at Maryland, 11/5/21).
- She is the 12th Boilermaker to reach the prestigious 30-dig club and just the fifth underclassman to do so.
- She is the first Power 4 player to reach 30-digs in a match this season (Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Big 12).
DIOR CHARLES: PROGRAM RECORD SET
- Charles set a Purdue record for hitting % in a five-set match vs. Bowling Green (9/4) and produced the fourth-overall highest clip by a Boilermaker with her errorless .846 attack (11-0-13).
- The mark also is the second-highest hitting % in the nation so far this year.
DEFENSIVE DANDY VS #15 KANSAS
- Purdue totaled 87 digs in the 3-2 win vs. #15 Kansas (9/5), the most digs by the Boilers since 2021.
- In fact, over the last 10 years, Purdue has reached at least 87 digs on just two other occasions (103 vs Minnesota - spring 2021 season and 89 vs. Illinois - 2021 season).
A HOLLOWAY TRADITION: RANKED WINS
- With the win, Holloway Gymnasium has seen a ranked win in 12 of the last 14 years for a total of 26 top-25 takedowns during that span.
FAMILY TIES
- Purdue, led by head coach Dave Shondell (23rd season) and Butler, guided by Kyle Shondell (third season), will mark the first official meeting between the father and son duo while at their respective programs and the first between the two programs since 2005.
