Admission is free for all fans to every regular-season home game in 2022. Sunday is Senior Day, as the Boilermakers' seven seniors will be recognized prior to their penultimate game at Folk Field. Fifth-year Sydney Duarte and seniors Gabby Hollar, Lauren Holleran, Hannah Lapeire, Leanna Rebimbas, Emma Tompkins and Chloe Woodbeck will be honored for their contributions to the Purdue Soccer program throughout their careers.

After a week off, Sunday begins the final five games of the regular season for Purdue, with two at home and three on the road. The Boilermakers are 3-8-1 on the season and 0-4-1 in the Big Ten. The Old Gold and Black are coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 10 Rutgers on October 2, which was the team's fourth top-20 opponent of the season and the third in a seven game span.
Illinois is 6-5-2 and 1-3-1 in conference play. The Fighting Illini return to action after a 4-0 home loss to No. 8 Northwestern on Sunday.
Statistically, junior midfielder Emily Mathews is fourth in the Big Ten with five assists and sophomore forward Gracie Dunaway is No. 9 in the league with five goals. Dunaway leads the team with 12 points and 12 shots on goal, and she shares the team lead of 23 shots with freshman forward Kayla Budish. Dunaway and Budish are two of four Boilermakers with two assists, and Budish also is second on the team with six points and 10 shots on goal.

Purdue is 10-13-3 all-time against Illinois and 7-0-3 in West Lafayette. The Boilermakers have won four of the last six matchups, most recently a 2-1 victory in 2021 in Champaign. The Fighting Illini visit Folk Field for the first time since 2017, after three consecutive U of I home games.
Last season at Illinois' Demirjian Park, a pair of second-half goals powered the Boilermakers to a 2-1 road win. Then-senior Sarah Griffith scored in the 55th minute on a goal that appeared on ESPN's #SCTop10 later in the evening. Purdue's lead was extended to 2-0 two minutes later on an Illinois own goal. In goal, freshman Kailey Kimball made a career-best eight saves. It was the fourth consecutive game that Kimball bested her previous career high in saves.
