ICON Invitational First and Second Rounds
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Women's golf is tied for the lead of the 14-team field at the ICON Invitational after two rounds Monday. The Boilermakers are even with No. 5 Kent State with a 36-hole tally of 1-over par 577 (289-288). The Boilermakers and Golden Flashes lead TCU (+2, 578) by a stroke and top-ranked Texas (+3, 579) by two heading into the third and final round Tuesday.
Individually, freshman Sifat Sagoo posted back-to-back 1-under par 71s in the opening two rounds and sits in a tie for second at 2-under 142. Sagoo, who recorded her first top 10 finish at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic two weeks ago, is tied the senior Micaela Farah for the most rounds at par or better for the year at seven. Sagoo is two strokes shy of individual leader Sophie Guo (-4, 140) of Texas with 18 holes remaining
Freshman Kan Bunnabodee overcame an opening-round 3-over par 75 with a 4-under 68 in the second. Tying Sagoo for the lowest round of the season in the second round, Bunnabodee is tied for sixth individually with a 36-hole total of 1-under par 143. She posted a bogey-free round over the second 18 holes Monday.
Farah put together a consistent two rounds, carding an even-par 72 on the opening 18 and a 1-over 73 in the second round. She enters Tuesday tied for 15th in the individual standings.
Sophomore Danielle du Toit is tied for 34th after shooting a 4-over par 148 in the opening 36 holes. She opened the invitational with a 1-under 71.
Tuesday's final round will tee off at 9 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.
