WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the fourth time in course history, the Kampen Course on Purdue University's campus will host an NCAA Championship, as the NCAA awarded the school the 2024 Men's Golf Regional Championship.
"We are honored and excited to be chosen to host another NCAA Regional," head men's golf coach Rob Bradley said. "The last regional we hosted in 2017 was a showcase for our course, our incredible grounds crew and our university, and the event generated a lot of buzz for the work that was put into it."
Kampen Course is considered one of the elite collegiate golf courses in America. Designed by the late Pete Dye in 1996 and opened in 1998, the course has previously hosted the 2003 NCAA Women's Golf National Championships, the 2008 NCAA Men's Golf National Championships and most recently the 2017 NCAA Men's Golf Regional Championships.
Stretching almost 7,500 yards from the back tees, the links-style course ranks as one of the most-difficult courses in the Midwest and one of the top collegiate golf courses in America, ranking sixth on the latest Golf Digest rankings.
In 2017, the Boilermakers were one of five teams to advance to the National Championships with a fifth-place finish at 18-over par 886 (292-287-303). The Boilermakers joined UNLV, Auburn, Illinois and New Mexico as representatives from the West Lafayette Regional. During the event, just six players finished even or under par through 54 holes.
Entering the 2020-21 season, Purdue has advanced to six straight NCAA Regionals.
