FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Purdue softball finalizes its 2020 roster with the addition of Utah State infielder Kenzie Bolin, head coach Boo De Oliveira announced Thursday.
Bolin, an infielder who hails from San Marcos, California, made 34 starts in 41 appearances during her freshman season for the Aggies. She hit .283 with a .446 slugging percentage and a .427 on-base percentage while playing mostly second base and pinch hitter. Bolin concluded the 2019 season with 21 runs, 26 hits and 17 RBI.
"I am beyond excited to join Purdue's softball program," Bolin said. "I'm so grateful for this opportunity to grow as a player and a person. I look forward to the friendships I will make along the way and would like to thank everyone who has supported me through this journey."
Before her collegiate debut, Bolin was a four-year letterwinner at San Marcos High School, where she helped the Knights to the 2018 California state title. Also guiding San Marcos to four consecutive league championship titles, she concluded her high school with a .355 batting average, tallying 119 hits and 59 RBI. Bolin also played two seasons of volleyball for the Knights.
"Kenzie is a versatile player who can play first base, second base, and hits the gaps well," De Oliveira said. "She has a high game IQ and we look forward to her helping round out our infield."
Bolin joins Georgia Tech transfer Skye Webb as the second transfer added to the Boilermaker program for the upcoming year. Overall, she is the ninth addition to the team, which is also welcoming seven high school signees for 2019-2020.
