WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue volleyball team continues to add talent to its 2019 roster, this time on the coaching side as head coach Dave Shondell welcomes Tim Ebbecke as a volunteer assistant. Ebbecke comes to Purdue after five years of coaching at the club and high school level.

"We had several outstanding candidates to choose from this year, but what separated Tim was his passion to learn and do whatever will be necessary to benefit our athletes and program," Shondell said. "Tim has a terrific playing resume and coached with a well-respected staffs through the country. I'm excited for Tim to arrive for summer camps and start making a difference."

Ebbecke joins Purdue after coaching Guns Up Volleyball Club team out of Lubbock, Texas. He also served as an academic advisor for Texas Tech and as a volunteer coach for the Red Raider volleyball team.

"I am extremely honored to join the Purdue coaching staff," Ebbecke said. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with one of the best teams, learn from some of the best coaches and bring the experience I have to enhance what has already been built. I want to thank Dave Shondell and the entire Purdue coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. I also want to thank all the clubs that I have worked for along the way to help me become the coach that I am today. Overall, I am excited to get to West Lafayette, dive into the Boilermaker volleyball culture, and get to work to help this team accomplish our goals for the season."

Aside from his time in Texas, Ebbecke has also worked with St. John's, Italy's Aviano volleyball camp, NC Elite Volleyball Club, East Carolina Junior Volleyball Club and Panther High School.

Prior to his coaching career, the New York native was a middle blocker for University of Mount Olive.
