WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team earned the No. 9 in the Big Ten Tournament and will take on No. 8-seed Michigan State on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET at Nebraska's Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. The Boilermakers are 10-12, 5-6 entering the postseason, while Michigan State finished the regular season at 15-10, 6-5.
The match-up is the first between the two teams this season, with Purdue leading Michigan State in the all-time series 17-4, including three of the five last meetings.
Both teams are riding on a three-game winning streak including victories over Maryland and Rutgers. Both teams swept Maryland 4-0 and defeated Rutgers 5-2.
Last year in the Big Ten tournament Purdue faced No. 28 Ohio State falling 4-1 in the opening round. The Spartans made it through the first round defeating Indiana 4-2 before being swept by Michigan 4-0 to end their season.
