WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - With a solid foundation in place for its football program, including a state-of-the-art performance complex, top-flight coaching and support staff, and an energized fan base, the time is right for Purdue Athletics to sharpen its focus on future improvements to the home of the Boilermakers, Ross-Ade Stadium.
On Monday, Purdue vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics Mike Bobinski announced that the athletics department has retained Elevate Sports Ventures to oversee a fan-centric, data-driven study to shape the strategy for renovations to Ross-Ade. The study will be the basis for a campaign entitled "Your Ross-Ade Stadium."
Data from tens of thousands of stakeholder surveys and hundreds of focus-group interviews with specially vetted participants will be utilized in study generation, incorporating best practice models derived from Elevate's industry wide experience.
Fan feedback encompassing the areas of entry and egress, seating options, concessions, parking, game presentation, technology and more will be included in the study. The first wave of distribution and collection of stakeholder surveys probing Purdue football season-ticket holders, single- and multiple-game purchasers, current students, alumni and fans from West Lafayette-Lafayette, Indianapolis, throughout Indiana, Chicago and more, will begin Jan. 29 via instructional emails.

Purdue has seen recent extensive growth in season-ticket and single-game ticket sales. From 2016 to 2018, average home attendance grew by nearly 50 percent, tops in the nation (from 34,451 in 2016 to 51,120 in 2018). Purdue is the only Division I university to see its average attendance increase by 3,000 or more from both 2016 to 2017 (nation-best 13,433) and from 2017 to 2018 (3,236). Season-ticket sales have skyrocketed, growing by over 6,000 seats between 2017 and 2018, with renewals at a school-record high rate of 95 percent.
Season tickets for the 2019 season go on sale Jan. 22, with a priority purchase deadline of April 30. There are eight price categories - including two new ones on the popular west side of Ross-Ade - providing an affordable price point for all fans. Meanwhile, Purdue Athletics continues to accept deposits on new football season tickets.
