WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The track and field teams kick off the 2015-16 season with a trip to Bloomington, Indiana, for the Hoosier Opener on Friday. The Boilermakers are scheduled to send 36 individuals to their lone December meet.
The Boilermakers will compete against individuals from the following schools:

FIRST TIME BOILERMAKERS
Purdue is set to travel four women and six men who will compete for the first time. On the women's side, freshman Janae' Moffitt was named the 2015 Miss Indiana Track & Field after winning the state championship in the high jump, the lone event she is entered in Friday. Yamani Hunter is another talented in-state freshman. Hunter was among the state's best in the short sprints and horizontal jumps during the spring and she is entered in the 60-meter dash and the triple jump. Freshman Charlotte Brown comes to Purdue from Texas, where she finished third in the state in the pole vault last season. She is entered in the event Friday. Sarah Loesch is the final Boilermaker who will be making her Purdue debut on the women's side. After redshirting last season, Loesch will compete in the weight throw.
On the men's side, the Boilermakers loaded up on talented speedsters. Malcolm Dotson, Josh Ebikwo, Gerald McGee, Keanu Pennerman and Kyle Webb are scheduled to make their Purdue debut in the sprints. The group includes some of the fastest individuals of their age group from the Bahamas, Bermuda and the United States. Chris Bluish rounds out the group and is scheduled to compete in the men's 1,000-meter run.
THE USUAL SUSPECTS
The Boilermakers also travel a group of returnees that includes five Big Ten champions and nine All-America honors. Symone Black was last year's Big Ten Freshman of the Year during the indoor season, before winning the Big Ten 400m hurdles title outdoors and helping the women's 4x400m relay team earn First Team All-America honors. Savannah Carson was a member of the women's 4x100m relay team that earned First Team All-America honors in Eugene, Oregon, last spring and will compete Friday. Carmiesha Cox picked up a pair of All-America honors in the spring and is set to run in the 60m dash and 4x400m relay. Aarin Jones and Brionna Thomas round out the First Team All-Americans that will compete for the Boilermakers on Friday. The sprinters will run in the 500m run and the 4x400m relay.
The meet is set to begin at 3:45 p.m. ET with the women's weight throw. The Boilermakers have five individuals scheduled to compete in the event. The first track event will run at 4:30 with the men's 5k, though no Purdue men are entered. The first event on the track for the Boilermakers is set for 4:50 with the women's 60m dash.
