WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermakers were forced inside by rain for both practices of Monday's two-a-day. The team came out in helmets and shoulder pads for the morning session, before wearing full pads in the afternoon.
The defense had the upper hand for much of the afternoon, especially in the full contact session. Linebacker Andy James Garcia intercepted a deflected ball and ran it back for a touchdown, which started a slew of huge defensive stops.
Head coach Darrell Hazell spoke to the media following the second practice. The second year coach addressed the quarterback situation, the team's maturation process, gave injury updates and more. The full video interview with Hazell can be found below.
