REQUEST FOR STUDENT-ATHLETE APPEARANCE
Please note that student-athletes' days are filled with class, strength & conditioning, practice, physical therapy, tutoring and study hall. As a result, we cannot, and will not, guarantee participation from any specific team or student-athlete for a requested event. We will, however, do our best to accommodate your request and solicit volunteers for your event.
Community Engagement/Promotional Event Request Requirements: To request the appearance of Purdue University student-athletes please complete and submit the form found in this packet a minimum of two weeks prior to the scheduled event. On this form, you will be asked to specify whether your request is for a promotional or community engagement event.
Promotional Event: an event in which Purdue University student-athletes are tasked to specifically promote their sport, their games, or the Purdue University Athletics Department. Examples of these responsibilities include (but are not limited to): signing autographs, passing out Purdue University posters and schedules, and more.
Community Service: an event in which Purdue University student-athletes are providing service to those in need. Examples of this include (but are not limited to): helping children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, animals, people experiencing homelessness, improving the environment, and more.
Upon Receiving Your Request:
• Purdue University Compliance staff will review your request to determine if the involvement of student-athletes is permissible under NCAA guidelines.
• If the request is approved by the Compliance Office and Office of Student-Athlete Development, student-athletes will then be recruited to volunteer for the requested event. In some instances, time constraints prohibit student-athlete participation. In these cases, it may not be possible to secure volunteers.
• You will be notified within one week of the requested event if student-athletes have committed to volunteer, or if student- athletes are unable to attend.
