WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue opens up conference play with a rivalry match at No. 52 Indiana this Saturday, March 23 at 3 p.m.
The Boilermakers return from spring break on the West Coast having dropped matches at UNLV and then-No. 65 Boise State.
Soham Purohit followed up his first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor with an unbeaten break at singles No. 2. Purohit capped off the week with his first career ranked win over No. 79 Jip Van Assendelft in straight sets. He has now won six consecutive matches and seven of his last eight. Purohit is on pace to collect 23 total singles victories this season.
As conference play approaches, the Boilermakers have winning records at position No. 2 and 6. This year's 5-8 non-conference record is the best since 2021 when Purdue went 7-7 outside the Big Ten.

SCOUTING No. 52 INDIANA
The Hoosiers come into Saturday's matchup as ITAs No. 52 team with an 11-4 record. Home court advantage has largely contributed to Indiana's season as they are a perfect 10-0 at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosier's bring two ranked teams to the court with No. 55 Sam Landau owning a 7-2 record in dual matches this spring. Landau has played the entirety of the season in the Top 2 positions with a 4-2 record at No. 1 and a 3-0 record at No. 2. Indiana's top doubles tandem features No. 50 Michael Andre/Ilya Tiraspolsky going 8-1 at doubles No. 1.
Indiana is 2-2 in its last four matches with losses to then-No. 29 Louisville and UC San Diego. The Hoosiers won seven straight from Jan. 31-Feb. 11 collecting wins over Purdue's common opponents Boise State, Brown and Drake.
The Boilermakers trail the all-time series with the Hoosiers 34-69. Purdue's most recent win was a 4-0 sweep in Bloomington on March 26, 2022.
