WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 11 Purdue Boilermakers (12-1, 2-0 Big Ten) closed out the opening weekend of Big Ten play with a 3-1 victory at Iowa (6-7, 0-2 Big Ten), 29-27, 18-25, 25-16, 25-18.
Eva Hudson led the Boilermakers with 19 kills (19-6-42), following a decisive fourth set in which the freshman posted eight kills with two errors on 14 attacks (.429).
The Boilermakers will split Week 2 of Big Ten play, beginning on the road Friday night at Illinois at 8 p.m. ET (B1G+) before returning home vs. Rutgers on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (B1G+).

- A back-and-forth first set saw 19 tied scores and 11 lead changes.
- Koch recorded a kill to give Purdue the 18-16 advantage, the largest lead by either team up until that point.
- Koch opened up the match 4-for-4 on the attack
- Iowa went on a 5-1 run to extinguish Purdue's set point and tie it up, 24-24. Combined, the game saw four set points, including one from the Hawkeyes.
- Iowa went on a 7-0 run to take the advantage, 12-13, however Purdue responded with a 6-2 run of their own to regain the lead, 18-15. The Purdue run included two stuffs by Raven Colvin (one solo, one assisted with Megan Renner) and three kills by Hudson.
- Iowa closed the set with a 10-1 run.
- The Boilermakers stepped up their blocking game with six total blocks, led by Raven Colvin with three and back-to-back blocks by Eva Hudson (one solo followed by an assist with Colvin).
- Emma Ellis went errorless with four kills on six attempts (.667) in the set.
- Purdue hit .300% in the set while holding Iowa to a -.024%.
- Hudson led the team in the set with eight kills on 14 swings.
- Ellis added four kills with one error on seven swings (.429).
