WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue softball's Rachel Becker received her second consecutive First Team All-Big Ten honor, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
The senior led the Big Ten and checks in at No. 15 in the nation with a .434 batting average, marking the second straight year Becker has topped the league and is on track to become just the second Boilermaker to post back-to-back seasons with a .400+ batting average. Meanwhile, she ranked second in the league in on-base % (.525) and is on track to finish in the top four in program history for career on-base %.
In the final game of the regular season, Becker became Purdue's all-time leader in runs with 149. The triumph comes after setting the single-season batting average record (.479) and matching the single-season doubles record (18) last year.
Heading into postseason action, Becker has totaled 43 runs, 66 hits (fourth-most in the Big Ten), 15 doubles and five home runs over the team's 54 games.
Becker and the Boilermakers are set to compete in the Big Ten Tournament today as the 11 seed and are set to face No. 6 seed Ohio State at 1:30 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network.
