WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team completed its three week homestand with a sweep of the Butler Bulldogs and the Illinois State Redbirds.
NOTES
PURDUE VS. BUTLER
Purdue came out ready to win with the doubles pairs of Carmen Gallardo Guevara, Juana Larranaga, Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Csilla Fodor executing their matches right away to start the match off 1-0.
The match then proceeded with Juana Larranaga besting Norah Balthazor 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
No. 77 Csilla Fodor and Seira Shimizu followed soon after to clinch the match for the Boilermakers, 5-0.
PURDUE VS. ILLINOIS STATE
Similar to the previous match, Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Csilla Fodor were quick on their feet to secure the first set of doubles for the Boilermakers.
Making a strong finish for doubles, Juana Larranaga and Carmen Gallardo Guevara rose above the Redbird's Penelope Abreu and Elena Jankulovska, 6-4.
Tara Katarina Milic swept her first set of the singles matches to give the Boilers a headstart.
Rut Galindo rose above Elena Jankulovska at No. 5, 6-1, 6-1 to improve the Boilermaker's score to 3-0.
Purdue improved their overall record to 8-3 this weekend with the sweep of both matches.
