ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Purdue men's tennis team earned the No. 10 in the Big Ten tournament and will face-off against No. 7- seed Northwestern in the opening round. The Boilermakers take on Northwestern on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET at Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center.
Earlier this season Purdue fell to Northwestern 5-2 in Evanston. The Boilermaker charge was led by Mateo Julio at the No. 2 position with a victory over Dominik Stary 7-6. 6-4 and Stephan Koenigsfest's victory over Chris Ephron 6-3, 7-6 at No. 4.
Last year in the Big Ten tournament Purdue fell in the first round to No. 49 Penn State 4-0 to end their season. Northwestern also fell in the opening round to No. 8 Iowa 4-2, ending their season.
