WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 67 Purdue women's tennis team is set to travel to University Park, PA, for their second consecutive road trip of the spring season, facing No. 36 Penn State on Sunday, March 9, at 10 a.m. ET.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- In their first Big Ten road test and match against a top-25 opponent, the Purdue women's tennis team suffered a 0-4 loss at No. 8 Ohio State.
- Purdue took on four nationally-ranked singles players ranging from No. 9 to No. 89 in the nation during their match in Columbus.
- The No. 3 doubles duo of Fatima Gutierrez and Kathryn Wilson clinched a hard-fought 6-4 victory over Ohio State's Audrey Spencer and Nao Nishino, marking their first win as a pairing since defeating Butler on January 19.
- Before play was suspended, No. 6 singles player Kathryn Wilson was mounting a comeback, leading 5-4 in the second set after dropping the first set 1-6.
- Senior Tara Katarina Milic aims to extend her undefeated streak against Penn State, having won her last two matches against the Nittany Lions since March 23, 2024.

- The Boilermakers hold a commanding 25-8 lead in the series against the Nittany Lions, with Coach Glitz boasting a strong 12-3 record against Penn State since joining the program in 2007.
- The teams last faced off on March 23, 2024, in West Lafayette, where the Boilermakers secured a dominant 4-0 victory, which was their fourth straight win over the Nittany Lions. Purdue's last loss in the series came in 2017.
