WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Indoor Track & Field is set to send four combined event athletes to the New Mexico Collegiate Classic from Feb. 7-8, while Jila Vaden will long jump at the Fairgrounds Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday.
Andreas Hantson and Logan Sandlin will participate in the heptathlon, while Angeline Amefia and Jalen Elrod are in the pentathlon.
Men's Notes
• Hantson ranks 19th in Division I and second in program history with 5,531 points in the heptathlon. He set a personal best in the 60m (7.37), 60m hurdles (8.85), 1000m (2:41.18) and pole vault (4.51m / 14-09.50).
• Sandlin moved up to fifth in program history with 5,269 points in Illinois. He finished top three in the 1000m (2:42.02) and pole vault (4.81m / 15-09.25).
Women's Notes
• Jalen Elrod ranks 19th in Division I with a 3,966-point performance in the pentathlon at Illinois. The total moved her up to sixth in program history. She set two personal bests in long jump (5.88m / 19-03.50) and shot put (11.90m / 39-00.50).
• Angeline Amefia entered the program top 10 in the pentathlon at No. 9 with 3,729 points. She set a personal best in the 800m (2:25.45), high jump (1.61m / 5-02.25), long jump (5.76m / 18-10.75) and shot put (9.12m / 29-11.25).
• Vaden jumped a collegiate personal best 5.96m (19.06.75) in her last appearance. The jump placed her 10th in program history.
