WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue begins the 2016-17 season this weekend at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate at renowned Wolf Run Golf Club in Zionsville. Fourteen teams, including six of the nation's top 70 teams in last year's final Golfstat rankings, will swing into action on Saturday. The field will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Live scoring will be provided by Golfstat.com.

Purdue at This Event
- Purdue's appearance marks the first time that the Boilermakers will compete in the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. The Boilermakers are somewhat familiar with the layout, having played practice rounds at the course in addition to a US Open qualifier at the course in which all five counting team members competed. Leading the Boilermakers in that qualifier last May were Brian Carlson and Fernando Barco, both finishing tied for second.

About the Course (Wolf Run GC)
- Wolf Run Golf Club is one of the top courses in Indiana, not only hosting the U.S. Open qualifier last May, but several other events as well.
- The course was ranked as the 15th-best modern course by Golfweek in 2007and has been a mainstay on the Golf Digest Top 100 list. It is also listed among the top 25 most-difficult courses in America.

Purdue Team Notes
- Purdue won three tournament titles last year, coming at the Windon Memorial Classic, Bridgestone Golf Collegiate and Hoosier Collegiate.
- Purdue's three tournament titles were the most for the program since the 2010-11 campaign (4) and the fifth most in a season in school history.
- In each of the previous three seasons under Rob Bradley, Purdue has finished second, fourth and second in the season-opening event. Its last victory in a season-opening event came in the 2010 Turning Stone Tiger Invitational in Verona, N.Y. (1st / 18 teams).
- Purdue's 290.50 team stroke average last year was the second-lowest team average in school history. The school record came during the 2001-02 season (288.19). Three of the program's five lowest stroke average totals have come under Bradley.
- Purdue set a school record in 2015-16 for percentage of team rounds under par. Of the 38 team rounds played last year, 13 of them were even or under par for a percentage of 34.2.
- Since the 2001-02 season, Purdue has had four players finish in the top 10 just twice. Both times happened last year (Windon Memorial Classic, Boilermaker Invitational).
- Since the 1980-81 season, Purdue has had five tournaments where every team round was even or under par. Three of them happened last year and one more happened during the 2013-14 season.

- Austin Eoff ... school-record holder in career stroke average (72.81) ... three-time All-Big Ten honoree (second-team twice; first-team once) ... school-record holder for consecutive top-10 placings (8) ... 18 of his 38 rounds last year were at even or under par ... stroke average of 72.76 last year was the seventh-best average in school history ... his 14 career top-10 finishes are fourth in school history, while his seven top-10 showings last year as a junior were second ... Golfweek's National Player of the Week (Nov. 2, 2015) ... has recorded 17 rounds in the 60s and has 50 rounds of par or better (113 career rounds).
- Brian Carlson ... second-team All-Big Ten as a sophomore ... his 72.97 stroke average last year was the 11th-best average in school history ... owns a 73.83 career stroke average to rank eighth in school history ... two-time Big Ten Golfer of the Week last year (Sept. 30, March 10) ... led the team with four top-five finishes and his six top-10 placings were the fourth most in school history ... 1-of-3 players in school history to have two 54-hole tournament scores of 207 or better (Adam Schenk, Peter Richardson, Carlson) ... owns seven rounds in the 60s and 22 rounds of even par or better ... scores have counted in 16 straight rounds dating to last year.
- Fernando Barco ... named a Big Ten Golfer to Watch ... led the team in spring stroke average last year (72.87) ... two-time qualifier for the U.S. Amateur ... named Big Ten Golfer of the Week (April 13) ... his 73.03 stroke average last year was the 13th best in a season in school history while his 74.04 career average is the ninth lowest ... has eight career rounds in the 60s and 22 rounds of even par or better ... led the team last year in pars made (434) ... led Purdue at the NCAA Stillwater Regional last year with a T-10th showing, carrying the Boilermakers in the final round (73).
- Jarle Volden ... showed steady improvement last year and played his best late in the year ... was T-7th after two rounds at the NCAA Stillwater Regional ... posted a pair of top-20 finishes last year (Northern Intercollegiate, Hoosier Collegiate) ... his 65 at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate equaled the lowest round by a freshman in school history ... had seven rounds of even or under par scores and three rounds in the 60s.
- Timmy Hildebrand ... showed improvement last year and had a great summer, finishing second at the Indiana Open after winning it in 2015 ... played in three events last year with his best showing coming at the Hoosier Collegiate (T-30th) ... placed T-11th at the US Open Qualifier at Wolf Run GC last May ... two of his eight rounds last year were even or under par.

Success Under Coach Bradley
- In 38 events during the Rob Bradley era, Purdue has placed in the top five in 23 of them. In the six full previous years (2007-08 to 2012-13), Purdue had 25 top-five finishes in 72 events played.
- Bradley is the first coach in school history to make three straight NCAA appearances to start his career. Purdue has made three straight NCAA appearances for the first time since making four straight from 2004-07. Purdue and Illinois are the only Big Ten teams to make NCAA Nationals during the last three years.
