Complete CSCAA Release & List of Honorees

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. ââ'¬" Seventeen members of Purdue swimming and diving have been recognized as Scholar All-Americans by the CSCAA for excelling as student-athletes in both the pool and classroom.

All 17 Boilermakers honored were owners of 3.5 grade-point averages or better during the 2014-15 school year and/or cumulatively. Nine of the 17 were recognized as full-fledged Scholar All-Americans for qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Eight others garnered Honorable Mention acclaim after posting an NCAA provisional qualifying "B Cut" time in at least one individual event.

First Team Academic All-America and platform diving All-America honoree Jamie Bissett headlines the list of Boilermakers to also receive CSCAA Scholar All-America accolades. The diver was named CSCAA Scholar All-America for the third year in a row. He was joined by teammates Marat Amaltdinov and Sean Mokhtari and Honorable Mention selections Josh Brooks and Jan Karel Petric this year, the latter pair being recognized for at least the second year in a row.

Six of the nine Purdue women that qualified for the NCAA Championships this year were among the Boilers honored as Scholar All-Americans. Six other swimmers garnered Honorable Mention recognition. Earlier this week the Purdue women's program was recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team again after having the sixth-best GPA (3.59) in the country during the 2015 spring semester.

Francesca Marr, Nika Karlina Petric, Rhiannon Sheets and MacKenzie Tweardy are the Purdue women's repeat honorees. Kylie Vogel was an Honorable Mention designee this year while being recognized again. Allie Davis and freshman Abby Jagdfeld also joined the list after teaming with Petric and Sheets on the Boilers' record-setting 800 freestyle relay that earned Honorable Mention All-America acclaim at the NCAA Championships.

Along with the 800 free relay team, Alex Todd and Kylie Vogel also eclipsed the previous program record in the 100 butterfly. Todd broke her own record at the Big Ten Championships and Vogel lowered it again a week later at the Boiler-Make-It NCAA Last Chance meet. Amaltdinov and Jagdfeld accounted for new freshman records in 2014-15.

Among Purdue's Honorable Mention swimmers, Hannah Manger and Jan Karel Petric each had a B Cut time in three events. Brooks and Vogel accomplished a similar feat in two events. And all nine full-fledged Scholar All-America honorees had at least one B Cut as well, or in the case of the divers, a Zone-qualifying score.

Bissett, Marr, Sheets, Vogel and the Petric siblings were all recognized by the CSCSAA for at least the third time during their careers.

Many of the Boilermakers to receive CSCAA Scholar All-America honors were already named Academic All-Big Ten in March and are likely to be among those recognized as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars later this month.
