A CLOSER LOOK AT PURDUE'S PROBABLE LINEUP
- The Boilermakers will travel to New York with a 15-man roster. Redshirt freshman Luke Welch was added as a second 125-pounder. Last weekend Purdue had two listed at 165, but will only take Pat Robinson.
- The addition of Welch marks the first time that all three Welch brothers (Chad, Doug and Luke) have been listed on the probable lineup.
- Purdue's probable lineup has a dual record of 21-9. The Boilermakers have posted 10 decisions, six pins, a pair of major decisions and technical falls and have received one forfeit through three duals.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
- Binghamton dropped is season opener to Arizona State, 23-15, on Nov. 15. The Bearcats surrendered bonus points at 149, 184 and 197.
- Six starters and eight reserves competed in the New York State Intercollegiate Championship last weekend, finishing the open tournament with 148 team points. Sophomore Nick Tighe captured the B bracket 141-pound title, while Dylan Caruana (141) and Zack Zupan (165) each placed third in the A bracket.
- Tyler Deuel, the lone ranked Bearcat, opened the season by winning the 285-pound title at the Jonathan Kaloust Open (11/9). He posted three-straight bonus point victories before registering a 4-1 decision in sudden victory over unranked Jake Henderson of Old Dominion in the finals. Deuel was unranked at the time, but appeared in the InterMat rankings the following week.
- After going 28-15 and earning a trip to the 2014 NCAA Championships at 125 pounds, David White has moved up a weight class for his final season.
SERIES HISTORY // BINGHAMTON
- Saturday marks the third time that Purdue has faced Binghamton and the second time they've battled at the Journeyman/ASICS Northeast Duals. The first meeting came in 2000 with the Boilermakers blanking the Bearcats, 42-0. In the last meeting, which was coincidentally at the Journeyman/ASICS Northeast Duals, Binghamton took six weights and avenged the loss with a 24-15 victory.

- In addition to the win over Old Dominion, the Tigers have posted dual victories over Truman State (54-0) and Missouri Baptist (43-3).
- Devin Mellon (285) captured the 285-pound title at the Cyclone Open to begin the season, but the 2014 NCAA qualifier has not wrestled in a dual for the Tigers. J'den Cox, who is the defending national champion at 197 pounds, filled the role as heavyweight against Truman State and Missouri Baptist. The Tigers forfeited at 285 against Old Dominion and it appears that they will give up the six points while at the Journeymen/ASICS Northeast Duals.
- Do not overlook the youth of Missouri's probable lineup. In addition to Cox and Mellon, the Tigers return five NCAA qualifiers from last season: Matt Manley (133), Lavion Mayes (141), Drake Houdashelt (149), Joey Lavallee (157) and Mikey England (174). Cox won a national title as a true freshman and Houdashelt took fifth in 2014.
SERIES HISTORY // MISSOURI
- Purdue leads the all-time series that dates back to 1966, 14-11-1, but the Tigers have taken the last three duals. The Boilermakers edged Missouri, 18-15, on Dec. 12, 2010, for their last win in the series.
- This will be the sixth neutral site dual between the two teams, to which the Tigers hold a 4-2 advantage. They last met on a neutral mat in St. Louis, Mo., in 2004, with Missouri winning, 25-10.
- The 26th meeting came at the Missouri Regional of the NWCA National Duals.

SCOUTING THE MONARCHS
- Old Dominion enters the Journeymen/ASICS Northeast Duals on the heels of a 24-10 loss to Missouri in its season and Mid-American Conference opener on Nov. 23. A pair of Monarchs were upset as No. 10 Lavion Mayes edged No. 5 Chris Mecate, 5-4, at 141 pounds, and second-ranked 184-pounder Jack Dechow was stunned in sudden victory by unranked Willie Miklus, 9-7.
- The dual appearance was the first action of the season for nationally ranked 125-pounder Brandon Jeske and Mecate. Despite a 5-2 loss to Missouri's third-ranked Alan Waters, Jeske moved from No. 18 to 17 on InterMat's rankings, while Mecate dropped from fifth to eighth at 141 pounds.
- On Tuesday, Jacob Henderson appeared in InterMat's 285-pound rankings for the first time this season at No. 18.
- Dechow is one of five returning NCAA qualifiers for Old Dominion: Brandon Jeske (125), Chris Mecate (141), Alexander Richardson (149) and Tristan Warner (157).
SERIES HISTORY // OLD DOMINION
- Purdue leads the series, which started in 2004, 3-2.
- This will be the second neutral site meeting between the two teams. The first time they met, the Boilermakers took a 37-7 dual in Hampton, Va. Old Dominion has won both duals contested on its home mat (2009, 2010).
- In their last meeting, the unranked Boilermakers won 7-of-10 weights to upset the 23rd-ranked Monarchs in their only trip to Holloway Gymnasium.
