Four-year varsity letterwinner in cross country and track and field at Walled Lake Central High School; qualified for the Michigan State High School Championships in cross country all four years, earning all-state honors as a sophomore and senior and posting a high placing of 20th as a senior; posted a personal record of 1:54.0 in the 800-meter run as a senior.
