LEXINGTON, Ky. – The penultimate weekend of the outdoor regular season will see the Purdue track & field team travel to the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky, from April 19-20.
The meet at Kentucky's Outdoor Track & Field Complex begins on Friday, April 19, with the heptathlon at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Boilermakers' first field event is set for 1:30 p.m., and the squad's opening event on the track is at 4:45 p.m. Purdue's first day should conclude at 6:45 p.m. On Saturday, April 20, the final three events of the heptathlon start the day at 10:30 a.m. Purdue's first throwing event gets underway 30 minutes later, at 11 a.m., with the first running event set to begin at 12:40 p.m. The two-day meet will conclude at approximately 5 p.m.

Forty Boilermakers – 21 men and 19 women – are making the trip to the Bluegrass State. Purdue will have 49 entries in 29 events. The 30-team field includes host-Kentucky and Big Ten foes Indiana, Michigan and Michigan State.
This weekend serves as a preview of the NCAA East Preliminary Round, hosted by Kentucky from May 22-25. Purdue makes its first visit to Lexington since 2017, which also was the last time the Wildcats hosted the NCAA prelims. Additionally, the Boilermakers competed at UK indoors as recently as 2022.
PURDUE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Boilermakers are represented four times in the top-25 in the fourth weekly national TFRI individual rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Graduate student Cameron Miller is ranked No. 8 in the 200-meter and sophomore Seth Allen checks in at 17th in the discus. Freshman Andreas Hantson and the men's 4x400 relay both are No. 24 nationally. Miller, Hantson, Allen and the relay team all earned their national rankings with top-10 marks in school history, with Miller's mark being a school record.
In the Event Squad rankings, the men's 3,000m steeplechase is No. 7, the men's pole vault is 15th and the men's 200m in 22nd.
LAST TIME OUT: WINS AND A RECORD LEAD A BUSY WEEKEND
Five top-10 marks in school history were set as the Boilermakers competed at the Tom Jones Memorial Invite in Gainesville, Florida, and the Gary Wieneke Memorial in Champaign, Illinois, last weekend.
From April 12-13 in Florida, Miller broke the school record in the 200m, Allen improved his place at No. 3 all-time in the discus and junior Emma Squires entered the record books at No. 7 with a win in the 3,000m steeplechase. Sophomore Kiefer Bell also won the steeplechase, as Purdue went 1-2-3 in the women's race and 1-2 in the men's event.
On April 13 in Illinois, graduate student Safin Wills made his season debut and rose to No. 3 in school history in the long jump and freshman Douglas Buckeridge entered the top-10 list at No. 10 in the 1,500m.
