Purdue Drops Home Match to No. 1 Ohio State

 

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue dropped its second conference match 0-4 to No. 1 Ohio State on Friday.

Purdue dropped the doubles point at the top two positions. Soham Purohit/Juan David Velasquez were able to push No. 5 JJ Tracy/Robert Cash from a 3-5 deficit to 4-5. They ultimately lost 4-6 and th Buckeyes took the one-point lead in the dual.

There were no easy opponents as singles No. 1-5 faced off against Top 100 players, four of them in the Top 25. 

Simeunovic and Labrador were the only Boilers to win sets against their opponents. Simeunovic came out with a quick 6-2 win in the first set but was unable to finish his match. Labrador fought back from a set down and forced a third. His match was abandoned when he was trailing 0-1 in the final outing.
