Purdue trimmed a 19-point deficit down to four points late in the fourth quarter but could not complete the comeback in a 6859 loss to Michigan State. Abbey Ellis topped 20 points for the fourth time this season with a 22-point effort. Sophie Swanson had a career night off the bench with 19 points and five 3-pointers. The Boilermakers held the Spartans 17 points below their season average, as well as their fourth sub-40% shooting game.

• Purdue leads the all-time series with Wisconsin 55-22.
• The Boilermakers rolled to an 89-50 win over the Badgers on Dec. 30 with all five starters finishing in double figures. It was Purdue's largest win in the series since 1994 and its biggest win against a Big Ten team since 2017.
• Abbey Ellis tallied her 22nd game in double figures this season and 58th as a Boilermaker. The Australian lead Purdue in scoring with 13.5 points per game to rank 19th in the Big Ten.
• Mary Ashley Stevenson enters Sunday as one of the top freshmen in the Big Ten, ranking second in rookie rebounding and third in scoring for all games. She is second in both categories in Big Ten play.
• The New York native is second in the Big Ten with a 90.9% free throw clip in league play. Her 81.7% clip for the season ranks 10th nationally among qualifying freshmen.
• Stevenson needs 22 rebounds to become the fifth freshman in Purdue history to record 250 points and 150 rebounds.
• Jeanae Terry is one of three players from the Big Ten and one of eight nationally to post over five points, rebounds and assists, plus one steal, per game.
• Terry is on pace to become the first player in Purdue history to average over six points, rebounds and assists in a career.
• The Detroit native is second in the Big Ten with 33 steals during league play, including 10 in the last three games.
• Terry is now 13 points away from reaching 1,000 in her career.
• Purdue freshman class leads all Big Ten rookie groups with 22.8 points per game, up to 23.1 points per league contest.
• Sophie Swanson notched career highs with 19 points with five 3-pointers in 24 minutes of action against Michigan State. It was the most made 3-pointers since Madison Layden hit five against Iowa in the 2021 Big Ten Tournament.
• Despite missing the first five games of the season, Swanson is fifth among Big Ten freshman with 26 made triples.
• Madison Layden is now 16 points shy of reaching the 1,000-point club as its 37th member. Layden is also two 3-pointers shy of becoming the sixth player in Purdue history to record 200 triples in a career.
• The Boilermaker freshmen have combined for 24 double-digit scoring performances this season, ranking second in the Big Ten behind Nebraska's 27.
