WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Football will hit Rohrman Field at Ross-Ade Stadium for the first time in 2024 when the Boilermakers hold a spring game at noon on Saturday, April 13.

The event is open to the public, and admission is free. Purdue Football alumni from all generations will join as special guests as part of an alumni reunion weekend.

After a one-year hiatus due to the $45.4 million Phase I renovation of Ross-Ade Stadium, the spring game returns for fans' first look at the 2024 Boilermakers.

Purdue Football begins its second season under head coach Ryan Walters. During his first year guiding the Old Gold and Black, Walters and the Boilermakers faced one of the toughest schedules in the country. As the Boilermakers prepared to play Northwestern in their 11th game of the season, all 11 teams on Purdue's schedule up to that point, including the Wildcats, did not have a losing record. Despite the gauntlet, Purdue tied for fourth in the Big Ten West and won both rivalry games to keep possession of the Cannon Trophy (Illinois) and the Old Oaken Bucket (Indiana) for the third straight season.

Purdue found success on both sides of the ball last season. The offense led the Big Ten in rushing in conference contests, averaging 184.6 yards per game. That included the Boilermakers rushing for more than 300 yards in back-to-back games for the first time since 1968. On the defensive side of the ball, Purdue recorded 35 sacks, the most since 2004 and the third-most in program history. Individually, Dillon Thieneman became an All-American (Third Team – AP), while being named FWAA Defensive Freshman Player of the Year and Big Ten Freshman of the Year after setting school records for interceptions (6) and solo tackles (74) by a freshman; both marks ranked third nationally by any defender in college football throughout the 2023 campaign.

Walters and his staff strengthened the team with the 2024 class, taking advantage of a full recruiting cycle. The class is currently ranked No. 30 nationally according to the composite rankings compiled by 247Sports, Purdue's highest ranking since the class of 2019 assembled five years ago. The transfer rankings are even better. Ranked 13th nationally by Rivals, including second in the new 18-team Big Ten, the transfer class totals 14 new Boilermakers and features 11 players from Power 5 schools. Combining the recruiting class with the transfer class, Purdue ranks sixth in the Big Ten according to Rivals.
