The Boilermakers dropped a Wednesday decision on the road to Michigan State 97-70. Abbey Ellis led the way with 16 points. Jeanae Terry narrowly missed her third career triple-double with 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Sophie Swanson chipped with 12 points on four 3-pointers off the bench.

• Last season, Purdue knocked off No. 2 Ohio State 70-65 in Columbus for the first top-5 road win in program history.
• Purdue has an 8-2 record at Mackey Arena this season. The Boilermakers are averaging 78.4 points per game and shooting 46.9% in home contests. Five players are averaging double figures at Mackey, led by Abbey Elli's 15.5 points.

• Sophie Swanson set a career-high with 12 points against Michigan State on a quartet of 3-pointers. Swanson has shot 7-of-15 from the arc over her last four games.
• The 1,000-point countdown continues to shrink for Abbey Ellis, Jeanae Terry and Madison Layden. Ellis is 45 points away from reaching the 1,000-point club as a Boilermaker. Layden needs 80 points to reach the 1,000-point mark. Terry is 39 points shy of 1,000 for her career at Purdue and Illinois.
• Jeanae Terry is one of three players from the Big Ten averaging over five points, rebounds and assists this year, along with Caitlin Clark from Iowa and Shyanne Sellers from Maryland. Since she joined Purdue, Terry has had 37 5-5-5 games, second in the nation to Clark's 66 games.
• Madison Layden moved up to third in the nation with a Big Ten best 49.4% 3-point clip (43-87). The Kokomo native is seventh in the Big Ten with 43 3-pointers on the year.
• Caitlyn Harper reached the 1,800-point club with her first basket against Michigan State. The sixth-year senior is 40th on the NCAA active career scoring list with 1,805 points. 
• Purdue is in the midst of a stretch of seven straight games against teams in the top 30 of the NET (Iowa - 6, Indiana - 11, Ohio State - 13, Michigan State - 20, Maryland - 26, Nebraska - 27 and Penn State - 29).
• Mary Ashley Stevenson is one of 12 freshmen from major conferences averaging nine points and five rebounds.
• Purdue's NET strength of schedule this season is the ninth hardest in the country.
• Purdue's freshman class leads the Big Ten with 22 points per conference game, four points better than Nebraska is second.
