Sunday marks the final non-conference game for Purdue, an eight-game stretch that featured three top-25 ranked opponents in the first seven games. The Boilermakers enter Sunday's matchup with a 2-5-0 record following a 2-1 loss to No. 25 TCU on Thursday night. The Hilltoppers come to West Lafayette at 1-1-5 after a 0-0 draw at Evansville on Thursday.

The Boilermakers have scored 13 goals with 15 assists for 41 points on 83 shots and 38 shots on target. Eight of Purdue's 13 goals have come from different players, and four of those are first career goals. The Old Gold and Black have allowed 13 goals on 34 shots.

Individually, senior midfielder Emily Mathews ranks No. 22 nationally with four assists. Freshman forward Lauren Omholt is fourth in the Big Ten with a .600 shot accuracy, and senior goalkeeper Charlotte Cyr also is fourth in the conference with 609:32 minutes played. Junior forward/midfielder Gracie Dunaway leads the team with three goals and shares the team lead of six points with Mathews and sophomore forward Kayla Budish. Dunaway also paces the Boilermakers with 19 shots, while Omholt has a team-best nine shots on goal. Cyr has made 21 saves with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .618 save percentage.

SCOUTING WESTERN KENTUCKY
Western Kentucky is 1-1-5 following three consecutive 0-0 draws. The most recent goalless result was on September 7 at Evansville, as WKU held an 11-5 advantage in shots in the team's first road game of the year. Besides their five draws, the Hilltoppers own a 5-0 triumph over Union (Tenn.) and a 5-1 defeat to then-No. 17 Xavier.

WKU has scored nine goals with six assists on 88 shots, 44 on goal. The Hilltoppers have allowed eight goals on 55 shots. In goal, Maddie Davis is No. 9 in the NCAA with four shutouts, and she has made 24 saves for a .750 save percentage and a 1.14 goals-against average. Katie Erwin has scored two goals and has five points, all team-high totals. Kayla Meyer, who has a goal and an assist, paces the squad with 19 shots and eight shots on target.

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE HILLTOPPERS
Purdue and Western Kentucky have squared off once before, in 2006 in West Lafayette. Ranked No. 21 nationally at the time, the Boilermakers earned a 4-1 win in that season-opening matchup. That victory propelled Purdue to a 14-6-3 season and an NCAA Tournament berth.

LAST TIME OUT: FIGHT COMES UP JUST SHORT
In a hard-fought game against another top-25 opponent, Purdue was edged by No. 25 TCU, 2-1, on September 7 at Folk Field. The Boilermakers scored the game's first goal in the 48th minute, but the Horned Frogs answered with the tying goal in the 67th minute and the eventual winning score in the 79th.

Purdue's goal, off the foot of Omholt, was just the fourth given up by TCU this season. It was Omholt's second goal of her inaugural campaign. Mathews collected her 20th career assist on the goal, which moved her up into a tie for No. 4 all-time in school history. She is even with Kellie Phillips, a Boilermaker from 2008-11. It also was Mathews' fourth assist in 2023. Additionally, junior forward Megan Hutchinson collected her second career assist, both coming in 2023.
