WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The coaching staffs at Purdue and Indiana have mutually agreed to move this weekend's baseball series at Alexander Field to a Saturday-Sunday-Monday schedule, essentially moving Friday's game to Monday.

The original start times Saturday and Sunday remain the same. The full updated series schedule is…
Saturday, April 9 at 3 p.m. ET
Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m. ET
Monday, April 11 at 4 p.m. ET

Tickets for Friday's game can be used Monday. Standing room only tickets are all that remain for the games on Saturday and Sunday.

The series schedule was changed in an effort to capitalize on better weather conditions. Friday's forecast calls for temperatures in the low-40s, with precipitation potentially turning to snow in the evening. Monday's forecast calls for temperatures in the 60s. Big Ten rules dictate that a series must be finished within three days after it begins. A series that begins on a Friday cannot be finished on a Monday. If a visiting team arrives on campus Thursday, the series must be finished by Sunday.

All three games will be streamed live on the Big Ten Network's B1G+ platform.

The 3 p.m. start time for Saturday was selected to pair up with Purdue football's spring game at Ross-Ade Stadium, which begins at noon and should wrap up during the two o'clock hour. Those plans remain in place.

The Boilermakers had five games canceled due to inclement weather last month, including the final two games of a weekend series vs. Ohio State at home to open Big Ten play.

Purdue has only hosted IU for one weekend series (in 2017) since Alexander Field open in 2013. Fourteen of the last 18 games in the rivalry series have been played in Bloomington. The Boilermakers were scheduled to host IU in May 2020 before the shutdown.

Purdue played consecutive road games on Mondays in April of last season as part of the Big Ten's three-team pods. But prior to those victories at Michigan State and Illinois, the Boilermakers had not played on a Monday since March 2017 at Cal State Northridge on the spring break trip. Purdue's last Monday home game is believed to have been a May 2010 matchup vs. Michigan State.
