WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- With rain in the forecast for Wednesday evening in Greater Lafayette, the coaching staffs at Purdue and Evansville agreed the Purple Aces would not make the 3.5-hour bus trip up, calling off the midweek game at Alexander Field.

The non-conference affair will not be rescheduled. Fans with tickets for Wednesday can exchange them for general admission seats to any future home game this season at Alexander Field.

The Boilermakers' season-long homestand is now a seven-game run at Alexander, opening Friday vs. Belmont and continuing through Sunday, May 1 vs. Michigan. Along with the two weekend series, Purdue is also scheduled to host Valparaiso on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a $3 midweek matchup.

The Heroes Appreciation promotion slated for Wednesday is being moved to Friday, April 29 vs. Michigan. Service staff personnel can now purchase $1 general admission tickets for the series opener with the Wolverines, another 6 p.m. game.

Wednesday was Purdue's seventh cancellation of the season, with five coming at home. Fans with tickets for March 12, March 27, March 28, April 8/11, April 12 or April 20 that have not already been exchanged, can still use those tickets for GA seats to any remaining home game this year.
