WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- It's time for the postseason for the No. 9-ranked Purdue Boilermakers and it will be the last team to play in this weekend's Big Ten Tournament. The Boilermakers will tip off at approximately 9 p.m. ET, on Friday against either sixth-seeded Ohio State, 11th-seeded Penn State or 14th-seeded Minnesota. Purdue is aiming for its first semifinals appearance since the 2018 tournament in New York City.
Purdue owns a 3-0 record against its three possible opponents, defeating Ohio State at home and Penn State and Minnesota on the road.
The contest will be televised on BTN with Brandon Gaudin, Robbie Hummel and Andy Katz on the call. On the radio waves, Rob Blackman and Bobby Riddell will be courtside on the 22-station Purdue Radio Network and online on the Varsity Sports Network (app). THE NOTES TO KNOW
1) Purdue is looking to become the seventh team to win two Big Ten Tournament titles, having won a previous title in Indy in 2009.
2) Matt Painter coached in his 600th career game last Saturday (570 at Purdue; 30 at Southern Illinois). He ranks fifth on the Big Ten's all-time games coached list (570) behind Tom Izzo (928), Bob Knight (901), Gene Keady (782) and Lou Henson (647).
3) Purdue clinched a Big Ten Tournment double-bye for the seventh time in seven tournaments under the current format. Purdue hasn't played on a Thursday in the Big Ten Tournament since the 2014 season.
4) Purdue is 12-6 in quad-1 and quad-2 games and if Rutgers moves up one spot to 75, the Boilers would be without at quad-2, 3 or 4 loss.
5) Purdue led the Big Ten in field goal percentage for the first time during the Matt Painter era, shooting 47.6 percent in league play.
6) Purdue is 23-0 in games it scores 70 or more points. In games held under 70 points, Purdue is 2-6.
7) Purdue has won at least 12 league games for the seventh time in the last eight years. During that span, just three other programs have done it at least five times (Wisconsin - 6; Maryland, Michigan State - 5).
8) Purdue owned the Big Ten's best home record in 2017 (8-1), 2019 (10-0), 2021 (8-1) and will again in 2022 (9-1).
9) Purdue's 81 Big Ten wins since the 2016-17 season are the fourth-most conference wins for a power-conference team during that span.
10) Purdue is 7-3 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament when it is the three-seed (title - 2009; finals in 1998, 2018).

IN THE BIG TEN TOURNAMENT
• Purdue is looking for its second Big Ten Tournament title when it heads to Indianapolis this weekend as the No. 3 seed. This marks the fifth time that Purdue has been a No. 3 seed, winning the title as the 3-seed in 2009 and reaching the finals in the inaugural event in 1998 and again in 2018. Purdue is 5-1 in its last two tournaments as a 3-seed and seven of its 14 wins have been as a 3-seed.
• Most of Purdue's success in event has come in Indianapolis, posting a 7-10 record. The Boilermakers are 7-6 in the city in their last seven Big Ten Tournaments, winning the title over Ohio State in the 2009 Big Ten Tournament, 65-61. It is Purdue's only win in five tries against Ohio State in the Tournament.
• Purdue's four title-game appearances are the fifth most in the Big Ten (Ohio State - 9; Wisconsin, Michigan State - 7; Illinois - 7).
• Purdue (2009) and Michigan State (2014) are the only 3-seeds to win the Big Ten Tournament. Six more 3-seeds have been runner-up, including Purdue twice.
